You are invited to take part in the fresh-air shopping experience offered by the Porter School Farmers’ Market.
We’re set-up in front of the historic Porter School on the circle in the Village of Alpha, which is located about 5 miles south of Crystal Falls, Michigan. Our market is open mid-June through mid-October, on Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. to noon and features locally grown seasonal produce, farm fresh eggs and assorted kitchen delights. Most vendors at the market accept Senior Project Fresh coupons and WIC Project Fresh coupons. SNAP Benefit Bridge Card holders can purchase tokens to use at the farmers' market produce and food vendor stands.
Local artists and crafters display their creative pieces including: jewelry, custom designed frames, knitting, wood carvings and found object art.
The Porter School Farmers' Market is open to accepting more vendor participation. If you have a backyard garden and have extra produce to sell or if you have some acreage and would like to market your fruits and vegetables, we'd like to get you involved. If you are an artist or crafter, perform music, sell farm-fresh eggs, value added food products or grass-fed beef please give us a call.
For participation requirements and forms or if you would like more information please call: Maureen Elson (906) 284-0661 or and Julie Harp-Creel at the Alpha General Store (906) 875-6328.
